Blog Entry#10 Renewable Energy and its Prospects
Renewable energy is energy that is generated from natural processes that are continuously replenished. This includes sunlight, geothermal heat, wind and various forms pf biomass. Renewable energy can be used for electricity generation, space and water heating and cooling and transportation.
Renewable energy is at the forefront of a sustainable and resilient energy future, offering a plethora of benefits that extend beyond environmental considerations. One of the most compelling advantages of renewable energy lies in its environmental benefits. Unlike fossil fuels, renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, and biomass produce minimal or no greenhouse gas emissions during energy generation. This translates to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint, contributing to global efforts to mitigate climate change.
Renewable energy is one of those things that feels like it is always talked about like we need to do it but I don't ever see any real change. Aside from multi-decade long plans to reduce emissions, the sense of urgency to change doesn't feel like it's there. Great topic/ blog post though. - Hayden Glauser
